West Frankfort City Council to Vote on TIF Agreement for New Convenience Store

WEST FRANKFORT – The West Frankfort City Council will hold a special meeting this afternoon at 3:30 at City Hall to vote on approving an ordinance authorizing an agreement with Meyer Oil Company, the owners of Mach 1 convenience stores.

According to City Clerk Angie Baker Deaton, this TIF agreement will have to be voted on prior to the company closing Friday on the property located by the West Frankfort Mall.

During Tuesday night’s regular meeting, the council voted to increase the Class A liquor licenses from 7 to 10. It also tabled the approval of a liquor license application as it needed further discussion.

The council voted to approve the lease for Sandy’s Flower Shop to open a gift shop on Nov. 1 at the West Frankfort Mall. It also approved a donation of $3,000 to 1st Priority from the video gaming fund.
