Motor Home Driver Killed in Johnson County Crash

GOREVILLE – A fatal accident happened in Johnson County Thursday night.

According to Illinois State Police, at 6:50 p.m. a 2004 Monaco coach motor home towing a pickup was heading north on I-57 at milepost 43 when the motor home’s right front tire blew out causing the driver to lose control. The motor home ran off the right side of the intestate, overturned on its left side and struck a large tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the motor home was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion with serious injuries. Names are not being released until family members have been notified.

ISP says the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts.
