One of Three Franklin County Juvenile Escapees Captured in Mt. Vernon
MOUNT VERNON- Mt. Vernon police officers and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies went to the residence just before 5 a.m. Friday morning in an attempt to
locate subjects wanted on arrest warrants. During a search of the residence, officers located the 17-year-old juvenile hiding inside. He reportedly resisted arrest
but was taken into custody.
Two adults, 18-year-old James Miller and 18-year-old Erica Brown, were also arrested on felony charges for obstructing justice – providing false information.
Additionally, 44-year-old Carolyn Duncan was taken into custody on a Jefferson County warrant charging possession of methamphetamine. Duncan was taken
to the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $30,000.
Miller and Brown were also taken to the Jefferson County to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
The 17-year-old juvenile was transported to the Mt Vernon Police Department for processing. He reportedly refused to cooperate with officers and was charged
with a second count of resisting / obstructing a peace officer and a Jefferson County warrant for probation violation.
The juvenile was ultimately transported back to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Facility pending court in Jefferson County. Due to their age, we will
not release the name of the escaped juvenile or show photographs.
He was, however, listed as #1 in the list of descriptions released by authorities following the escape of three juveniles earlier this week from the Franklin
