West Frankfort Man Arrested and Charged With Murder of Woman Found in Williamson County Monday

FRANKLIN COUNTY — A West Frankfort man is behind bars after a woman’s remains were found in rural Williamson County this morning.

According to a release from the West Frankfort Police Department, 48-year-old Thomas D. McCoy was arrested after being named as a suspect in the disappearance of 29-year-old Kendra Ardery of Johnston City. Ardery’s body was found near the intersection of Angelville Road and Meadowlark Road north of Creal Springs.

McCoy faces two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of concealing a homicidal death and abuse of a corpse. Ardery, who allegedly lived with McCoy, had been called in as missing by family members on Sunday. McCoy was questioned by West Frankfort police and eventually told them where her body was.
