West Frankfort City Council Could Approve Placing No Parking Signs on East Oak at Tuesday’s Meeting

WEST FRANKFORT – It looks like the West Frankfort City Council will discuss and possibly act on Police Chief John Prudent’s request to place no parking signs in the 1200, 1300 and 1400 blocks of East Oak Street at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The council last month basically left the no parking issue on Oak Street to the police chief to do the research and report back to the council at a future date.

In other business, the council is expected to approve an additional appropriations resolution regarding the Illinois 149/I-57 East to Douglas Street with Multiuse Path Project, discuss with possible action purchasing a truck for the police department to replace a damaged vehicle, advertising for bids to demolish property for the codes department and discuss with possible action regarding a proposal to make repairs to the police department’s roof.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The public is invited.
