SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Wednesday announced 1,393 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 18 additional confirmed deaths.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 175,124 cases, including 7,462 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 38,187 specimens for a total of 2,608,652. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from July 22–July 28 is 3.8 percent.
Jackson and Williamson counties reported 15 new positive cases of COVID-19 Wednesday. Franklin and Union counties reported three while Hamilton County reported two. All cases are in isolation. White County reported one case that is in isolation. Saline County reported two cases Wednesday. One case is at home in isolation. The status of the other case is in progress.
